	Summer Employment - Lifeguard PRT Temporary
	Closes: Until filled : LIFEGUARD These temporary positions will be responsible for life guarding at the City's pool. This position requires being available seven days a week. Applicants must have Red Cross ALS and must be First Aid and CPRPR/AED certified (provide copies of current cards with application). Salary is $8.13 hourly with no benefits. Applicant must be 16 years of age. The City of Aiken is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace. All final candidates must pass pre-employment drug screening. 	Water Safety Instructor (Temporary)
	Closes: Until filled : This position will teach swimming lessons to youth and adult participants along with lifeguard responsibilities. Applicants must have current Red Cross ALS and WSI certifications, and CPR/PR/1st Aide/AED certification (provide copies of cards with application). Salary is $8.32 hourly with no benefits. 	Summer Day Camp Counselors-Temporary
	Closes: Until filled : These temporary postions are for the Weeks and Smith-Hazel Activities Centers. Duties include: supervising children 5-12 years of age and planning daily activities and arts and craft activities. Salary is $8.13 hourly with no benefits. Hours are mainly Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. with the possibility of some evenings and weekends. Experience in childcare preferred. Must be 18 years old and able to obtain Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification. The City of Aiken is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace. 	Facilities Assistant (Part-time) Recreation Division
	Closes: 3/19/2010 : The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department is accepting applications for a part-time Facilities Assistant for the Recreation Division. Major duties are: prepare and secure the facilities for events; answer phones; register participants for classes; book events and related duties. Must have HS diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license. Work schedule - majority evenings and weekends. Good communication and customer service skills are necessary. Salary is $8.28 hourly with no benefits. The City is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace.

Public Works

	Summer Worker Positions (Temporary)
	Closes: Until filled : These positions will perform maintenance on the City’s parkways, bedding plants and trees, assisting in the installation of the sod, trees, flowers, etc. on new streetscape project areas. Other activities may include perform labor to assist in installing water and sewer lines; assist in pothole patching and maintaining curbs, gutters, and sidewalks; repairing water meters; and perform other manual labor as needed. Applicant must be 18 years of age or older. Salary is $8.13 hourly with no benefits. Applications will be accepted from February 18, 2010, until all positions are filled.
