The 2017 Community Stakeholders’ Symposium begins Tuesday August 1st; 6:00pm at the City of Aiken Municipal Building Conference Room with a community deliberative dialogue session and continues every Tuesday in August.

The first night of the series (Tuesday August 1st) will be a deliberative dialogue session with our community. Session Topic: Safety and Justice: How Should Communities Reduce Violence? This session will be facilitated by Barbara Brown, Executive Director for the Citizens Center for Public Life and an affiliate with the National Issues Forum Institute. Subsequent sessions (August 8th, 15th and 22nd) will provide information, resources and networking opportunities for various community sectors such as neighborhood organizations, non-profits and small businesses/entrepreneurs. The Symposium series will culminate on Tuesday August 29th with City of Aiken Department Leaders and Guest Speaker Bernie Mazyck, Executive Director of the South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development.

Symposium presenters include, SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), SC SBDC (South Carolina Small Business Development Corporation in partnership with USC-Aiken), Brezelmann Bavarian Pretzels, Dexter Price/Aiken Personnel Services and Christopher Emanuel/Sky Is The Limit Foundation.
