AIKEN, SC (Dec. 11, 2019) – Holiday shopping at the Aiken County Farmers Market will be at its best on Saturday, Dec. 14th, and Saturday, Dec. 21st – with Christmas Craft Saturdays at the Market. In addition to seasonal produce, baked goods, milk, eggs, meats, and honey, shoppers will find unique and locally crafted gifts. Vendors will be offering art, wood creations, soaps, candles, and jewelry, among a large variety of gift possibilities.

Approximately 40 vendors will be participating in the market on Dec. 14th and Dec. 21st. Among the crafters are Wreaths by Elliott Johnson, Holiday Bows by Sam Stevens, Iron Gate Candles, KD Soapworks, wood artist Guy Mueller, Busy Beads, Gracelets, artwork by Mimi Caroe Inman and Mark Walton, among many others.

A children’s coloring contest will also be held on both event days. Prizes will be given each Saturday for several different categories. Artwork and crayons will be provided. The winner does not have to be present to win.

The market is located near downtown Aiken at 115 Williamsburg Street. It is nine blocks east of the Aiken Visitors Center and Train Museum.

The Christmas Crafts events at the Aiken County Farmers Market are free and open to the public.

About the Aiken County Farmers Market
The Aiken County Farmers Market is the oldest farmers market in continuous service in the same location in South Carolina. The market structure at 115 Williamsburg St. near downtown Aiken was constructed in 1954. Farmers and their families built the 45 tables that are still in use today. The market is operated by the City of Aiken and is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from sunrise to noon. The Market in the Alley in downtown Aiken takes place in June.
