City of Aiken Youth Basketball

The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department Youth Basketball Program is designed to provide children ages 5-18 (age as of September 1 of the current year) residents of the area with an opportunity to participate in an organized recreational basketball league. Our leagues are typically organized by age group so that kids can play with other kids of similar skill levels. Most leagues also have a variety of divisions so that kids can find a challenging and fun league.

Once placed on a team, each child will receive an NBA team replica game jersey which is theirs to keep.

The regular season consists of ten games in January and February. Ages 9 and up have a postseason tournament following the regular season.

To provide a fun, safe, and positive environment for all children, we require that each coach undergo the National Alliance for Youth Sports certification process and a national background check.

In addition to learning the game of basketball, youth basketball league programs can also help kids develop important life skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership. These programs can also help kids stay active and healthy and provide a positive outlet for them to express themselves.

If you want a fun and healthy activity for your child, we encourage you to check out our youth basketball league program. You won’t be disappointed.

Here are some additional benefits of playing youth basketball:

  • Improved physical fitness
  • Increased self-esteem and confidence

First-time participants must bring a birth certificate.
