City of Aiken Announces New Tourism Manager

Aiken, SC – The City of Aiken has added Eric Gordon to its staff as Tourism Manager. Gordon brings 30+ years of creative marketing experience to the City of Aiken Park, Recreation and Tourism Department.

Before coming to the City of Aiken, Gordon worked in New York City as a travel specialist in various capacities in the tourism industry. Gordon founded the New York-based tourism company Beyond Times Square in 2003 until he sold it in 2017. Beyond Times Square did private and group tour experiences in the Northeastern United States.

“I believe Eric will provide Aiken visitors, City Council, and staff with a high level of insight, service, and commitment to cultivating the City’s dedication to tourism. What is impressive is his vast experience as a traveler, which broadens his perspective and will enhance the City’s tourism division.” stated Jessica Campbell, City of Aiken Director of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department.

Gordon is a native New Yorker. Born in Queens, NY, he has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the State University of New York College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of New York Baruch College. Gordon has traveled to 47 of the 50 states as well as 30 countries. Cooking, travel, reading, outdoors, seeing live music, and arts are his hobbies, but he has expressed that he would like to learn to fish and hunt.

Gordon began his employment at the City of Aiken on August 1, 2022. His office is located at the Aiken Visitors Center & Train Museum, located at 406 Park Ave SE.
