The Aiken County Farmers Market is hosting a series of “Thursday Market in the Alley” events every Thursday in June from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Along with farm fresh produce there will be a selection of artisan goods, local meats, eggs, baked goods, chocolates, and ready-to-eat street food and drink from downtown restaurants available for purchase. As an added bonus The Alley Taproom will be providing a 10% discount to anyone who shows proof of purchase from the market vendors. Downtown shops and restaurants welcome you to make an evening of it. You can also ride a bike to the event in order to be eligible to win a weekly prize from the Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee.

Live music is scheduled for each Thursday featuring Spirit Fiddle on June 1, Chris Ndeti on June 8, Shaw Creek Boys on June 15, Phillip Lee Jr. on June 22, and Matt Dahlheimer on June 29. Tourism Supervisor, Jenny Burghardt stated, “We are excited about another great year of incredible vendors and of the support from all the downtown businesses that are participating in this year’s event.”

Admission for the Thursday Market in the Alley is free and the events are sponsored by the City of Aiken, the Aiken Downtown Development Association, and the Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee. In addition to the Thursday Market in the Alley events in June, the Aiken County Farmers Market will continue to be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. until Noon and Saturdays from sunrise until noon at the market pavilion located at 115 Williamsburg Street.
