City of Aiken Community Resources

The City of Aiken’s Community Resources provides leadership, support, and a path to direct services which connect individuals, families, neighborhoods, businesses, and non-profit organizations with the information and resources they need to enhance the City of Aiken’s community’s quality of life. Provides comprehensive information and referrals, youth and family community outreach, and senior programs and services.

The City of Aiken values all residents and envisions a community in which people from all backgrounds have equitable access to opportunities to live, work, and play. A Community Resource Directory has been developed by the City of Aiken to serve as a general list of resources that includes food, clothing, shelter, utility relief, employment, healthcare, legal, and education for adults, youth, seniors, and families in the City of Aiken and surrounding areas.

The Community Resources acts as the liaison between the public and service agencies and other organizations to educate people about programs that are available to them and explain eligibility requirements, as well as assist people who need help. Community Resources may also communicate with service agencies on people’s behalf to explain special circumstances.

Mission:

To serve as a resource guide for community partnerships, collaboration, and change that will revitalize low and moderate-income neighborhoods, enhance human services, promote accessibility, expand affordable housing opportunities, and improve the quality of life for all citizens in Aiken.
