Council Chambers maximum occupancy is 150. Council meeting agendas are always available on the City of Aiken website before the meetings. For example, for a Monday meeting, the agenda will be available the Thursday prior to the meeting. At a minimum, pursuant to City Code, agendas must be published by noon on the day preceding the meeting. Items on the agenda requiring a decision by Council will have a period for public comment before Council moves to a vote. When the Mayor opens the floor for public comment on that agenda item, you may simply raise your hand to be recognized. A five-minute limit (max) is implemented on public comments in the meeting.

You may also submit written comments about agenda items to the City Clerk in advance of the meeting for Council consideration. More information about the parliamentary procedure that guides Council meetings may be found in Chapter 2, Article 2, Division 2 of the City Code, also available online: https://library.municode.com/…/codes/code_of_ordinances
