AIKEN, SC – The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department reports that effective immediately, Library Park, located at 355 York St SE, Aiken, SC 29801, is temporarily closed
Virginia Acres Park, the 46-acre park adjacent to the H. Odell Weeks Activities Center located on Whiskey Road, is home to one of the most popular playgrounds in Aiken. This playground will undergo a major update in the next few months. Originally installed circa 1968, the playground has seen a few changes over the decades, with the last installation being in the early 1990s. The City’s Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department announces that work on the playground replacement project will begin today.
The playground will be closed from Friday, February 7 to May 1, 2020.
