The Aiken Municipal Development Commission will consider proposals from parties interested in leasing commercial property at 106 Laurens Street SW, Aiken, SC, 29801. The space will be available for an abbreviated lease term to expire January 31, 2024. The space may be available on a month-to-month basis thereafter with the understanding the tenant must vacate with 30 days-notice pending the sale or redevelopment of the property. No renovations beyond minor painting and patching of the existing interior shall be undertaken by the lessor or the lessee during the abbreviated term. The rental amount for the property will be $1600 per month with one month’s rent paid in advance as a security deposit. Proposals will be evaluated based on the use proposed for the space and its perceived contribution to the retail environment and an evaluation of the proposed use’s potential for success and attraction of foot traffic/customers to the Aiken Central Business District. Proposals should describe the business, its ownership and the intended use, along with a statement accepting the lease terms as stated above.
Proposals will be accepted through Feb. 24, 2023 with selection of the successful proposal anticipated by or before Feb. 28, 2023.
