Pedestrians walking where there are no sidewalks should walk in the direction opposite the flow of traffic. However, bicycle riders should ride in the roadway with the flow of traffic, as far to the right as it is safe to do so. If it is necessary for bicycle riders to make a left turn, they should extend out the left arm to indicate their intention and proceed to the left side of the lane when an opening in traffic will safely allow. Motor vehicle operators should respect cyclists and allow them reasonable and adequate room to make the left turn safely.
