The first of two wells at the new Silver Bluff Water Treatment Plant began operating in early December, feeding a new supply of water to the city’s drinking water supply. The added water will help maintain water pressure on the south side of the city. The second well, which will provide water to the plant’s wastewater operation, is expected to go into operation in January. Construction began on the $4.2 million project in late 2013 and is going into operation a little ahead of schedule.
