Solicitation of Comments for
Third Round of CDBG-CV (Coronavirus) Funds
Public 5-Day Comment Period
The City of Aiken will hold a 5-day public comment period regarding a third round of funds received for proposed activities to be funded under the CARES Act/Community Development Block Grant – Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
A draft copy of the City’s 2020-2021 Annual Action Plan (AAP) for submittal to HUD to include the new funds is available for review and comment at www.cityofaikensc.gov. The amount of funding received from the CARES Act is $201,843 to assist those affected by COVID-19. These funds must be used to Prepare, Prevent, and Respond to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Proposed Activities Include:
Small Business Loan Fund ~ $132,100
Local Health Care Facility ~ $69,743
Total ~ $201,843
The AAP includes the accomplishments of the City in regards to helping low-income citizens and improving substandard conditions. A 5-day public comment period is being held from November 16 to November 20, 2020 to allow the public to comment on the draft Plan.
