E-waste, or electronic waste, refers to old electronics that are no longer wanted. These products contain dangerous toxins like lead and mercury that should not be thrown in with the rest of the trash, but should be reused or recycled instead. Although they are a small portion of the waste stream by volume, computers and electronics constitute the fastest growing component of the municipal waste stream and contribute a significant amount of the toxicity found in landfills.
The City of Aiken along with South Carolina Department of Commerce will be hosting a small business forum designed to help small business owners explore various resources available across the state. Whether you are thinking about starting a business or have a existing company, there will be information shared to benefit everyone. Topics will include business development resources, state and federal contracting opportunities and access to capital.
