11th Annual Black History Jazz Concert

The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department is set to host the 11th Annual Black History Jazz Concert.  The event will be held on Saturday, Feb 27, 2021, from 7:00 PM-9:00PM at the Lessie B. Price Aiken Senior & Youth Center, located at 841 Edgefield Ave NW, Aiken, SC 29801.

The 11th Annual Black History Jazz Concert is for ages 18 & older and will feature local CSRA favorites, Preston & Weston. Tickets for the event can be purchased at the Smith-Hazel Recreation Center.

Each table provides 6 seats for family/friends to enjoy the event. Tables are priced at $54.00 (General Admission), $60.00 (Mid-Level), & $72.00 (Premium Seats). This program has a limited capacity; all participants must purchase a table during the registration period. There will be no tables or tickets sold the night of the event.

Tables will be available for purchase Jan 8th– Feb 21st, 2021. Face coverings must be worn while attending this event unless eating or drinking. Individually packaged snacks and beverages will be provided for refreshment.

Watch Aiken’s Future Racing Stars Workout

Featuring Special Guest Speaker Caton Bredar. Veteran thoroughbred horse racing analyst who was part of the original team to launch the first 24-hour, interactive horse racing television network (TVG). This will be an opportunity to observe juvenile thoroughbreds as they prepare to go to the races and older campaigners, workout before leaving to go to the racetrack. Local trainers will be on site to talk to participants about the various training methods used to train Aiken’s equine athletes.
Gates open at 7:30am. A light breakfast will be served at 8:00am. Those in attendance should wear face coverings and practice social distancing at all times. Guests may enter the Two Notch Road entrance that is closet to Audubon Drive. Vehicles must stop for all horses.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to support the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Museum.
Tickets may also be purchased at the H. Odell Weeks Center, Folly (downtown Aiken), Meybohm Real Estate (downtown Aiken), Aiken Training Track Office, and the Aiken Visitors Center & Train Museum (406 Park Avenue SE). Tickets must be pre-purchased, as no tickets will be available for purchase at the gate.

Family Game Night

Enjoy 3 games of bingo and a board game tournament with your family! Snacks and refreshments to be served. Prizes awarded to bingo winners and family winners. Registration opens on January 13. Guests will be required to wear facial coverings and will practice social distancing between family groups.
