City Office Closure Notification

City of Aiken offices will be closed on Monday, July 4th, for Independence Day and will reopen on Tuesday, July 5th @ 8:10 AM.

Adult Basketball League

The City of Aiken is bringing back it’s Adult Basketball League. This league will consist of a six game season with a single elimination post-season tournament. Games will be played at Odell Weeks Gym 1. The season runs from August 15-September 21.

The Aiken City Council Will Hold its First Meeting In Its New Chambers

The Aiken City Council will hold its first meeting in its new chambers, located on the third floor of the Aiken Municipal Building at 111 Chesterfield Street S. The meeting will be held on Monday, June 27, at 7 PM. The new Municipal Building features new furniture and technology in its meeting spaces for improved functionality and capacity. The public may access the building via the Chesterfield St. entry or main parking lot entry. Council Chambers is accessible via stairs or elevator.

Aiken Has Been Awarded Tree City USA 37 Consecutive Years

The City of Aiken, South Carolina, has been recognized as a Tree City USA community for the 37th consecutive year. Cara Specht of the South Carolina Forestry Commission presented the award to the City of Aiken on Wednesday, June 1, at the Aiken Municipal Building, recognizing Aiken’s commitment to effective urban forestry management.

Hydrant Flushing Continues in Aiken

The City of Aiken Engineering and Utilities reports that  contractor, Holiday Service, will perform hydrant flushing and flow tests on the northside of Aiken. Update on affected streets and roads.

City Offices Closed On Memorial Day

The City of Aiken government offices will be closed Monday, May 30, 2022, in observance of Memorial Day. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 8:10 am. Residential trash pickup service will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.
