Aiken Is A City of Character!
Wouldn't it be great if everyone In the Aiken community would work together to develop and strengthen positive character qualities in their lives and in the lives of our young people ---- qualities such as responsibility, truthfulness, respect, forgiveness, sincerity, citizenship, and self-control?
This is exactly what we want to accomplish in our community. The mayor and a diverse group of interested citizens are working together on an initiative that will promote character development and encourage the building of stronger families and more involved citizens throughout our community. Good character qualities are necessary for success it all activities of life, including school, work and everyday relationships with people. It is our hope that as individuals and families grow in character, crime will be reduced, and the quality of life will improve.
It is the intent of the character initiative to partner with all segments of our community such so education, business and industry, family, faith, government, media, civic, and the public in general. We hope that everyone will be involved and work together to promote a better community through the development of positive character qualities.
