Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department Announces the Return of Story Time Program
The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department is pleased to announce the return of Story Time, a cherished reading program that promotes literacy in our community’s youth. The spring season begins on Tuesday, March 7, at 4:00 PM and continues every Tuesday afternoon in March, April, and May (except for Tuesday, April 4, when Story Time will not be held). Story Time is free to attend and is held on the grounds of Rye Patch, located at 100 Berrie Rd. This season our stories will highlight the importance of your imagination, teamwork, friendship, and much more!

City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department Announces 2023 Weekend Tournament Schedule
The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department (PRT) works to recruit youth and adult sports tournaments to drive economic impact. In 2022, facilities owned by the department hosted over 30 weekend tournaments, sanctioned by a number of organizations such as Freedom Sports, US Specialty Sports Association, US Tennis Association, Top Gun Sports, Black Softball Circuit, USA Track and Field and more. Sports tourism across City owned facilities provides a local economic impact of more than $2.5 million annually.
Annual Aiken Art Walk
During Masters week on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, from 5-8 pm, in beautiful Historic Downtown Aiken, SC, the City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department, the City of Aiken Arts Commission, and Aiken Downtown Development Association present the annual Aiken Art Walk.
City of Aiken Conducts Hydrant Flow Testing Downtown
Effective Saturday, February 4, the City of Aiken Engineering and Utilities Department (COAE&U) will conduct hydrant flow testing in the downtown area. The hydrant testing process will begin at 6 AM on February 4.
