The Aiken City Council will hold its first meeting in its new chambers, located on the third floor of the Aiken Municipal Building at 111 Chesterfield Street S. The meeting will be held on Monday, June 27, at 7 PM. The new Municipal Building features new furniture and technology in its meeting spaces for improved functionality and capacity. The public may access the building via the Chesterfield St. entry or main parking lot entry. Council Chambers is accessible via stairs or elevator.
New security protocols have been implemented for City Council meetings.
Doors lock after the meeting start for security. If you arrive after the start of the meeting and find the doors locked, you may contact the non-emergency ADPS dispatch number for admission at 803-642-7620.
ADPS must screen all attendees before entering Chambers.
The screening area is located on the third floor outside of Council Chambers. All bags will be searched. Those with pacemakers and metal implants or other medical concerns should declare such.
Keys, phones, and belts must be removed.
Shoes and jewelry need not be removed.
No weapons are allowed in the building.
