City Council Meeting

City Council Meeting

The Aiken City Council will meet 7 P.M. at 111 Chesterfield Street S in the City Council Chambers. . The meeting will be streamed live at https://www.youtube.com/CityofAikenSC. and https://www.cityofaikensc.gov/government/4-aiken

Council Chambers maximum occupancy is 135. Council meeting agendas are always available before the meetings on the City of Aiken website. For example, for a Monday meeting, the agenda will be available the Thursday prior to the meeting. At a minimum, pursuant to City Code, agendas must be published by noon on the day preceding the meeting. Items on the agenda requiring a decision by Council will have a period for public comment before Council moves to a vote. When the Mayor opens the floor for public comment on that agenda item, you may simply raise your hand to be recognized. A five-minute limit (max) is implemented on public comments in the meeting.

You may also submit written comments about agenda items to the City Clerk in advance of the meeting for Council consideration. More information about the parliamentary procedure that guides Council meetings may be found in Chapter 2, Article 2, Division 2 of the City Code, also available online: https://library.municode.com/…/codes/code_of_ordinances

City Council meetings are live-streamed via YouTube on the City of Aiken YouTube channel. If maximum occupancy is reached, citizens may certainly view the meeting via YouTube.

CITY OF AIKEN
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The City of Aiken will hold a public hearing to solicit comments regarding the reallocation of Program Income from its 2020-2021 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) allocation from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Program Income will be reallocated to a Closing Cost Assistance Program to help first time low-and-moderate income home buyers.

A public hearing will take place on November 29th at 5:30 p.m. in the Lessie B. Price Senior & Youth Center located at 841 Edgefield Ave, NW, Aiken, SC.

Individuals needing special assistance or sign interpreter to participate in the meeting, please notify call 803-642-7606 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
