City of Aiken Appoints New Director of Neighborhood Services
Aiken, SC – Aiken City Manager Stuart Bedenbaugh appoints Sabina Craig as Director of Neighborhood Services. Sabina Craig has worked for the City for twenty years serving in roles as Community Development Planner, Assistant to the Director of Engineering & Utilities, Stormwater Management, Administration Manager, and Development Project Manager.
In her new role, Ms. Craig will oversee the City’s housing and community development initiatives, particularly in the area of developing strategies to improve communities on the north side of Aiken and other low-and-moderate income areas of the City. Ms. Craig will also be responsible for identifying housing needs to enhance neighborhood development and make collaborative efforts to increase the amount of affordable housing in the City. Ms. Craig will continue to oversee the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and some components of the City’s economic development projects and initiatives.
“Sabina has been a valuable member of the City of Aiken for twenty years and I am pleased to announce this new position for her,” stated Mr Bedenbaugh. “Her experience and dedication to improving neighborhoods, experience with Community Development Block Grants, and general knowledge of the City is an asset to our senior leadership team.”
Ms. Craig is a proud graduate of Aiken High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing. A lifelong resident of Aiken, Ms. Craig lives in the City and has two sons.
