AIKEN, SC — The City of Aiken PRT Department will host an open house at the Lessie B. Price, Aiken Senior & Youth Center to celebrate its second year of operation on Friday, May 21, 2021, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
The Price Center is a community focal point where older adults and youth come together for services and activities. Their experience and skills respond to their diverse needs and interests, enhance their dignity, support independence, and encourage their involvement in the center and community. The center hosts regularly scheduled social activities, educational programs, and wellness programs. Activities for seniors and youth include various recreational, cultural, and creative arts programs. Evidence-Based Classes like Walk with Ease, Tai Chi, and A Matter of Balance improve the quality of life for those over 50. Bingo, Wii Games, and the Golden Good Timers Senior Club offer social interaction among peers. Partnerships with Eat Smart Move More, Clemson SNAP-Ed, Helping Hands, Inc., and the Juvenile Arbitration Program provide engaging and educational programs for teens.
Guests can participate in a sampling of activities including Bingo from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., exercise and wellness classes from Noon – 1:00 p.m., and virtual games from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. All activities are free during the Open House event.
The City of Aiken PRT Department welcomes the community to stop by and see what the Price Center offers.
Guests will receive information on classes and events, can visit vendors from the Aiken community presenting their services, and receive free “swag” bags from vendors on site.
Light, healthy refreshments will be available.
