Plastic Caps Now Recyclable

Wednesday, January 11, 2017

Upgraded equipment now gives us the ability to recycle plastic water and soda bottle caps, a recent change from our old recycling rules. As a reminder: Plastic bottles, jars and jugs also go in the rolling recycling cart. Aluminum beverage cans and steel cans should be tossed there, too.

For more information on what can and can’t be recycled, contact Public Works at 803-642-7613 or visit https://www.cityofaikensc.gov/garbage-recycling-yard-debris-collection/recycling-collection/.

We also encourage you to signup for our city newsletter for the latest updates on trash delays, water main breaks, road closings and more by visiting https://www.cityofaikensc.gov/newsletter/.
