The City of Aiken Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism gained a “life-saving” donation from Safe Kids Aiken County in the form of Adult & Youth-sized life vests in support of the brand-new City of Aiken Public Pool located at Smith-Hazel Recreation Center.
Safe Kids Aiken County is a local organization led by Tri-Development Center, which provides dedicated and caring staff, operation support and other resources to assist in achieving our common goal: keeping your kids safe. Based on the needs of the community, this coalition implements evidence-based programs, such as car-seat checkups, safety workshops and sports clinics, that help parents and caregivers prevent childhood injuries.
Safe Kids representative, Terrence Jackson, led the initiative by delivering over 30+ new life vests. He expressed that “safe fun is the best way to enjoy the summer” and how much it meant to him to expand partnership with the City of Aiken PRT department.
The City of Aiken Public Pool is located outdoors at 416 Kershaw Street, NE.
