The City Council approve a resolution to purchase a 29.3 acres tract of land located at 1754 Columbia Highway North. The purchase of the property will be used to construct a new water treatment facility.
The current plant on Shaws Creek at US 1 (Columbia Highway North) was built in 1954 and is nearing its end of its useful life.
Plans for the construction of a new facility directly across from the current plant on the eastern side of US 1 and will have a Shaws Creek frontage.
Funding for the purchase of the property will be provided by the Water and Sewer Systems Depreciation funds
