Aiken, S.C. – The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department is looking for volunteers to become docents at the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Museum. The next training will be on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Hall of Fame, which is located inside Hopelands Gardens.
The Hall of Fame celebrates Aiken‘s contributions to Thoroughbred racing. Those wishing to become docents should have a passion for history and/or equestrian pursuits. Docents will have a number of responsibilities, including opening and closing the Hall of Fame, greeting visitors and providing information about the exhibits and the museum. Some City of Aiken residents may qualify for the Senior Tax Work-off Program.
