City of Aiken Economic Re-Investment Fund

*Aiken City Council approved committed expenditures. Sewer Line Project July 2015, and Storm Water Project August 2015.

The Economic Re-Investment fund was approved by City Council in June, 2015. The purpose of the fund is to facilitate business growth in the City through funding for infrastructure projects and the creation of a Business Vitality position that will be used to foster economic growth. Council appropriated $700,000 for this fund in FY 2015-16. To date, City Council has allocated the expenditure of $100,000 from this fund: (1) $50,000 will be used to design and install a sewer line from Oak Grove Road north along Whiskey Road towards Beatty Lane. (2) $50,000 will be used for storm water improvements between an area bordered by Whiskey Road, Millbrook Avenue, Fabian Drive and Ola Hitt Lane.
