City of Aiken Enrichment Programs

Ah, the joy and refreshment of enrichment programs. The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism offers programs for children and adults. Now is the time to take the plunge and schedule time for enrichment for your child. You can sign up to enrich your life as well.

Toddler Time

Run, play and release a lot of energy! Toddlers interact and give parents a chance to socialize with one another. Balls, scooters, mats, hula-hoops, parachutes and more are provided to stimulate free play. Ages: 5 and under (accompanied by an adult). Wednesdays and Fridays, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Basic Dog Training

Wish your dog’s manners were a little more polished? Dogs five months and older will learn the basic commands of come, sit, down, stay, wait, stand, etc. Topics will include basic care of dogs and what to expect as training progresses. Optional enrollment in 7th week for just $5 will give your dog the chance to become an AKC-certified Canine Good Citizen. Dogs must be current on rabies vaccination and registered with City of Aiken if residing within city limits. Wednesdays, January 13 – February 17, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Puppy Class

Your puppy will be a S.T.A.R. with this six-week course designed for dogs 10 – 20 weeks of age. Puppies will learn a variety of skills and commands, and will take the S.T.A.R. Puppy Test at the end of the course. Puppies must have record of 2 sets of shots. This 6-week class is offered at different times throughout the year; please contact Odell Weeks for a current schedule.
