City of Aiken Fitness Classes

Boot Camp!

Transform your body with high-intensity cardio and circuit training in a friendly atmosphere. This workout is for real people, who want to get fit or stay fit. Ages: 14 and up (teens age 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult)

Weeks Fitness Room

Our small fitness room has some BIG advantages! We may not have dozens of everything, but we have at least one of
everything you need. Our community atmosphere offers encouragement and accountability without the hassle of a contract. Ages: 14 and up (teens age 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult) Mondays – Fridays, 8:15 a.m. – 8:45 p.m.
Saturdays, 9:15 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. Sundays, 1:15 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Outdoor Fitness

You already knew the City of Aiken has fabulous trails located at the Carolina Bay, Citizens Park, Smith-Hazel and the Weeks Center. But did you know that Virginia Acres is now home to a next-generation outdoor fitness zone complete with 10 adjustable resistance machines? Check it out free of charge!

Personal Training

We have a contracted Certified Personal Trainer available to help you take your workout to the next level in a one-on-one setting. Participants must have a valid fitness room membership. Contact Lori Comshaw at 803-443-9771.

Taekwondo for Seniors

Taekwondo for Seniors , instructed by black belt John Criste, helps senior citizens improve breathing, concentration, reaction time, and balance. Proceeds from this program will benefit the Smith-Hazel Community Center’s after school program.

The cost for this class is $4.00 for City of Aiken residents. The classes will be held on Wednesdays from 2pm-3pm. Participants may pay as they go or purchase a book of 10 tickets for convenience and savings.

Tai Chi

Tai something different! Tai Chi is an ancient form of Chinese meditative exercise, recognized by slow captivating movements. It was developed as a martial art and is now practiced to improve and maintain good health. Ages: 16 and up
Tuesdays, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. and Fridays, 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.


In this gentle mind/body workout, you will strengthen and tone your body, improve your balance and flexibility, and calm your mind. Traditional yoga poses combined with soothing music will you
give your day a whole new focus. Ages: 16 and up. Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, 8:45 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Cost $41 or $66 for 10 tickets depending on residency.
