Any application, permit, or form that cannot be submitted online MUST be downloaded, completed in its entirety and delivered in person to the Aiken Department of Public Safety Headquarters.

Citizen’s Academy Application

The City of Aiken Public Safety Citizen’s Academy Application is to be used by anyone wishing to attend the Aiken Department of Public Safety’s 9-week Citizen’s academy. The Citizen’s Academy teaches individuals about the different departments and special teams that make up Aiken Public Safety’s combined fire and police services.

The City of Aiken Complaint and Commendation Form is to be used by anyone wishing to file a formal complaint against or a commendation for any employee of the Aiken Department of Public Safety.

The City of Aiken Demonstration/Picketing/Protest Form is to be used by anyone wishing to hold a demonstration/protest/picketing within the City limits of Aiken in order to ensure the safety of all involved while they exercise their right to free speech.

Extra Duty Employment Contract

The City of Aiken Extra Duty Employment Contract is to be used by any entity wishing to enter into a subsequent contract with Aiken Department of Public Safety to employ uniformed off-duty Public Safety Officers at a specified event. At the completion of the services, the City of Aiken will invoice the requesting entity at the name and address provided.

The Extra Duty Employment Contract Advance Payment Form is to be used by any entity wishing to enter into a contract with the Aiken Department of Public Safety to employ uniformed off-duty Public Safety Officers at a specified event, for the first time. Fees must be paid at least 7 days in advance of the employment date.

Parade Permit

The City of Aiken Parade Permit is to be used by entities wishing to conduct a parade upon, over, and along the public streets, avenues, and/or thoroughfares of the City of Aiken. Approval of this application by the Aiken Department of Public Safety must be made a minimum of 30 days prior to the event in order to meet SC DOT requirements.

Parking Lot Jurisdiction Form

The City of Aiken Parking Lot Jurisdiction Form is to be used by owners of parking lots within the Municipal Limits of the City of Aiken, to have the parking lot brought under the jurisdiction of the Aiken Department of Public Safety. The Aiken Department of Public Safety will then have the authority to enforce, in such parking lot, all laws and ordinances relating to the unlawful operation of motor vehicles as applicable to the public streets and highways, as well as all other ordinances of the City of Aiken and laws and statutes of the State of South Carolina.

Peddling Soliciting Registration Permit Form

The City of Aiken Peddling Soliciting Registration Permit Form is to be used by anyone wishing to solicit by means of traveling house to house or to businesses within the City Limits of Aiken. No solicitation is allowed until the permit is approved. A background check and application fee are required.

Pet Registration Form

The City of Aiken Pet Registration Form is to be used by anyone owning a pet, over six months old, within the city limits of Aiken, in order to appropriately register the pet according to City of Aiken Ordinance 8-3.

Street Closing Permit

The City of Aiken Street Closing Permit is to be used by an entity wishing to close a public street in order to conduct an activity upon, over, and along the public streets, and/or thoroughfares of the City of Aiken in conformity with the ordinance and laws of Aiken, the State of South Carolina. May be required in conjunction with a Parade Permit. Approval of this application by the Aiken Department of Public Safety must be made a minimum of 30 days prior to the event in order to meet SC DOT requirements.

Taxi-Cab Driver’s License Application

The City of Aiken Taxi-Cab Driver’s License Application is to be used by anyone driving any taxicab on the streets of the city. Anyone operating a taxicab business must ensure that each individual has a Taxi-Cab license before they hire, employ, or permit them to drive a taxicab while employed in such business.
